Eastpak Artist Studio is a joint initiative of the lifestyle brand Eastpak® and the charity organization
Designers Against AIDS. Each year, a selection of the world’s most inspired designers are invited to
apply their creative vision to transform for free a blank Eastpak® backpack into a unique work of art.
All creations are subsequently auctioned off for charity.

Hand and Lock Prize for Embroidery Finalist.
Lottie Grierson has been selected by Hand and Lock as one of this years Embroidery finalists.
Her specialism is knitted textiles with a keen interest in embellishment techniques. All the finalists now have two months to develop their proposed idea for the final judging.

Texprint Success!
Printer Emma Kendall has been selected by Texprint this year! Next stop the Texprint exhibition in London in a few days and then preparations for Premiere Vision Paris in September. Its going to be a busy few months ahead.

3rd year Surface Design student Polly Redfern is a finalist in this years Creative Conscience Awards.https://www.creative-conscience.org.uk
Polly's project asks the question; 'How can maize farmers help to build a community through finding value in agricultural waste?
By repurposing waste materials generated during the production of maize, this project is engaged in creating new functional materials. It aims to eliminate damaging agricultural activities yet simultaneously provides an extra income for farmers and developing communities worldwide.

Our first year students made a visit to our local resource zone.
lots of varied materials to use in project work. Mainly off cuts and left overs from industry, all sorts of materials from plastics, foams, papers and fabrics.
